Signed on the back by J. C. Freemont, the famous explorer, politician and soldier.. VF+. Clear signature. The State of Texas finally agreed to give railroad builders a grant of sixteen sections of land for each completed mile of track, and that opened the way for the construction of a transcontinental railroad through Texas.
