Rockaway Steeplechase Association 1884. 2 shares. Issued, not cancelled. No.8. Red embossed seal. Horse and rider leap over a barrier. Fox hunting, polo, and steeplechase (horse) racing took place on the polo fields and racetrack of this elite club that attracted many wealthy new inhabitants to what is now known as the "Five Towns" in Nassau County. Issued to A.J. Cassatt, Pennsylvania Railroad President. Only a few examples are known, and this is one of the nicer ones. VF+.
