Fresh and original, with vibrant color, crisp signatures, and bold ink impressions. There is a light counting fold in the upper left hand corner. The condition of the bright red fibers in the paper attest to the fact that this note has never been tampered with. The side margins are trimmed just into the borders, but not severely, and the eye appeal of this lovely example is exceptional. The endorsement on the back reads "Disbursed Sep 22nd 1861 Ferdinand Molloy capt ASC".
