50th (Queen's Own) Regiment of Foot Shoulder Belt Backplate. A very fine and scarce example - gilt-seeded and burnished backplate with bronze and silver mounts comprising a large multi-rayed, beaded star, crowned QUEENS OWN (on scroll) 50 at center, silver sphinx and EGYPT below. Ca. mid- to late 19th Century. Excellent condition. Ex Hammatt Collection.
