European Private Order. Uncertain issuer, but possibly Danish or German. Early to mid-19th Century. Breast Badge. Silver, enamels and gilt. 82mm. Gilt-rayed cross, arms framed in a diagonal pattern with inner outline in violet enamel. Inset of arms textured in a basket-weave pattern. Large raised oval at the center framing a white enamel cross outlined in black. Central cross suggestive of the German Johanniter Order. Loss of much of the violet enamel. Otherwise Extremely Fine and attractive.
