All England Lawn Tennis Ground Ltd., (Great Britain) 1939. Certificate entitling the holder to obtain a seat at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships under the terms of the £50 'B' debenture, 19[39], blue, small tear edge splits, otherwise Very Fine. Debenture issues have always been the way that the Wimbledon Club and Championships have been financed. Currently debentures are issued every five years and those for 2016-2020 have been priced at £50,000 each! The terms of this debenture allowed the holder to receive tickets for each Championship up until 1947. The debentures were drawn annually and when redeemed the latter certificates were issued allowing the holder to keep receiving Championship tickets. This is may only be the second time an original debenture has been offered for sale. Debenture Rights certificates are occasionally, seen but are rare.
