Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Company (Washington, D. C.). 1842. 3 Shares. No. 228. Magnificent vignette of people walking beside the canal fills the entire left end panel. By W. Hood, Delaware. Fully issued, uncancelled. A small chip in the bottom margin, and a few minor body split, otherwise Very Fine. Only a few of these are known to us, and this is one of the nicer survivors. Certainly one of the most graphically pleasing examples from this time period.
