Small lot of autographs, 1939-1940's, on postage stamps affixed to small cards: Deems Taylor, composer, music critic, called the "Dean of American Music". His signature, dated 1 December 1939, across 3 Cents Swede Landing; Edwin Franko Goldman, prominent band composer of the early 20th Century known for his marches. His signature, dated Mar. 31/42, across 2 Cents Sousa; Alexander Woollcott (1887-1943), critic and commentator for The New Yorker, member of the Algonquin Round Table and one of the most quoted men of his generation. His signature across 15 Cents Statue of Liberty; Louis Untermeyer (1885-1977), poet, critic, anthologist, Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress. His signature across 3 Cents 1939 Colonial printing; uncertain signature ca. 1939 on French 2 Francs stamp; also Yousef Karsh, Armenian-Canadian portrait photographer, called "one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 20th Century" by NY's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Karsh sends his best wishes and signs on a long white card, dated 1997; and s, singer-songwriter, the Paul in "Peter, Paul and Mary". His autograph and greetings on a long white card.
