Crabbe, George (1754-1832). English poet and naturalist who was greatly admired by Byron. ALS, 8vo, 2 pages. Crabbe's "The Borough" was the inspiration for Benjamin Britten's opera - Peter Grimes. The entire letter concerns Crabbe's financial difficulties as a clergyman.

A hole in the blank leaf barely effects the front page. Some light age toning along the right side.
