1916 Medal, reverse officially named '61 Thomas O'Reilly.', with integral top riband bar, number officially corrected, extremely fine

Thomas O'Reilly, born c.1895; served during the 1916 Easter Rising in 'F' Company, 2nd Battalion, Dublin Brigade, Irish Volunteers as part of the General Post Office Garrison, and was mortally wounded by gunshot on Tuesday 25th April, possibly when the Imperial Hotel Garrison mistakenly opened fire on Volunteers escorting British prisoners into the G.P.O. during the afternoon, and died in Jervis Street Hospital (located behind the G.P.O.) on Thursday 27th April. He is buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.
