World War I: "In the Service of the Nation" Poster. By Dan Smith. Color. Columbia, holding flag, is seated left, by eagle and shield, before vision of American soldiers manning a machine gun. Excerpt from Woodrow Wilson's speech before Congress on Dec. 4, 1917 below. Named to: Pvt. Michael Finn, who enlisted June 26, 1918 at Bangor ME and served in a Chemical Warfare unit. Finn saw no engagements and was discharged March 10, 1919. Choice Very Fine. Attractively matted and framed with raised, ornate borders (21 x 25 ½").
