Wooddall freeholders … to be worth Thirty Five Dollars.."; * Newbern, NC, Dec. 20, 1848 slave-carried letter. Three page folio with integral leaf addressed to Benj. Borden of Hancock Creek with annotation by Boy George. "I send by your boy a Statement of your claims against Mr. Edwin D. Thorpe for monies which you have paid as his surety…The detention of your servant was unavoidable…I could not…furnish the statement until night." Small hole in margin. Both Fine. [2]
