Great Britain. George III (1760-1820). Halfpenny, (1806-1807). Brockage Pair. Obverse and Reverse Brockage. Laureate, draped short-haired bust r, rev. Britannia seated l. S.3781, KM 662. For any one coin type, brockages will nearly all be of one side, either obverse or reverse. This is the case because if the mint normally puts the reverse die on top as the hammer die, for example, then any resultant brockages would show two obverses; making a reverse brockage in this case rare. Brockage pairs, consequently are quite rare, but do turn up. The obverse brockage About Fine with a small scratch and die flaw on upper incuse side, the reverse Very Good. (2)
