A group of Railroad certificates signed by William Mahone as President of the companies, comprising Norfolk and Petersburg Railroad Co., bonds for $500 and $100, both 1867; Atlantic Mississippi & Ohio Railroad Co., capital stock, 18[80] and first mortgage bond for $1000, 1871, and Virginia and Tennessee Railroad Co., $100 bond, 18[69], all with vignettes, various colours, latter two cancelled, VF and clear signatures. William Mahone (1826-1895), railroad executive and president of the Atlantic Mississippi & Ohio Railroad (AM&O) which he formed in 1870. Mahone was later Virginia Senator from 1881-1887.
