Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Chicago Railway Co., certificate for $100 shares, 18[82], #1785, issued to and signed on reverse by Collis P. Huntingdon, signed as President by Melville E. Ingalls, lovely centre vignette of 'view at North Bend, Ohio', black and green, stamped with increased capital in 1881, punch cancelled, about VF.

Collis Potter Huntingdon (1821-1900), one of the 'Big Four' railway businessmen, he built the Central Pacific Railroad and was involved in the development of the Southern Pacific and the Chesapeake & Ohio Railways.
Melville E. Ingalls (1842-1914), state legislator specialising in transportation, he held positions as president of several railroads including the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis (Big Four) railroad.
