Collis Potter Huntington was among the "Big Four" of railroading, responsible for the construction of the Central Pacific Railroad portion of the first transcontinental railroad in the United States. Huntington later went on to contribute to the creation of Southern Pacific Railroad and the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway as well.
