Post Civil War. Pair. Harper's Weekly, June 3 and July 22, 1865. 16 pages each. The first with a cartoon of Jeff Davis playing chess with Uncle Sam on the cover "Check-Mate," and with a centerfold of the trial of the conspirators in Lincoln's assassination. The latter shows a British sailor raising the U.S. flag at the US legation at Honolulu, Sandwich Islands, and features an illustrated centerfold of the "Execution of the Conspirators" in Lincoln's assassination, an article on the Gettysburg Monument, and "Soldiers Home in Howard Street, New York". Typical edge separating, minor corner folds. Very Good-Fine. [2]
