Civil War: Enlistment of Charles H. McNaughton in the New York Volunteers, Aug. 19, 1862. Printed and written, 7 ½ x 9 1/2", form, records that McNaughton, a machinist from the town of Saratoga, NY was sworn in at Schuylersville for a period of three years. As he was a minor, 19 years and seven months of age, he had to have his mother Phoebe sign her consent on verso. Neither an examining surgeon nor recruiting officer signed; only Harvey Lasee, Justice. A few small edge nicks, creasing and three folds. Very Good. Ex the Reverend Paul Harwell Coll.
