Civil War, McClellan, George B., U.S. Politics: 1864 McClellan Campaign Ballot for Connecticut. An interesting, one candidate ballot (6 ¼ x 3") displaying McClellan's name and those of his six electors, but no other Democratic Party contestants. Printed in black ink; pleasing vignette of Lady Liberty seated holding a banner inscribed CONSTITUTIONAL UNION. Connecticut is not named on the ballot, but the named electors are well-known Nutmeg State politicians, including former Connecticut House speaker Green Kendrick. McClellan ballots are by and large far scarcer than Lincoln ballots. Three horizontal folds, small lower corner bend and some very minor smudges at top in blank area. Fine.
