Roosevelt, Franklin Delano. Thirty-second President of the United States (1933-1945), and along with Washington and Lincoln, one of its greatest; architect of the "New Deal," central figure in world events during the mid-20th Century, pulled the United States back from the precipice of disaster and out of economic depression, led the nation to ultimate victory in World War II; Governor of New York (1929-1932), Asst. Secretary of the Navy (1913-1920). Autograph Document Signed "Franklin D. Roosevelt" as trustee. A Certificate (Number 46323) for 50 Shares of the United New Jersey Railroad and Canal Company, Jan. 10, 1928. Owned by Franklin D. Roosevelt, Frederic A. Delano and Curtis B. Dall as Trustees for Sara D. Roosevelt (FDR's mother). Signed on verso by all three trustees - FDR and Dall in black, Delano in blue; stock transfer stamps attached, on July 2, 1931. Frederic Adrian Delano, Franklin's uncle, served as president pf a number of railroads, and vice-president of the American Unitarian Association; his philanthropic work through the Commercial Club of Chicago would have great impact on his nephew's presidential policies.
