Trio of receipts concerned with the care or use of slaves, all attributed to Alabama: Spring 1839 - doctor's receipt for treatment of "negro boy for branding, opening abcess of the thigh"; 1857 - receipt, on blue, lined paper, to "board Loucinda & Jo Negroes 1 Year 70.00"; Jan. 7, 1858 - Receipt, on blue, lined paper for a contract (to use) "John McWilliams negroes - boy Ellie 2.50, Pander 2.50, Limon 2.50 + a Child 2.50.
