Struck privately at the Saxon State mint in Muldenhutten per parliamentary request. The "King of Thule"/Elder seated l. on a curvate throne, blessing a boy and girl kneeling either side of him /Crowned Arms supported by Iceland's protective spirits; the first Norse permanent settler Ingólfur Arnarson standing facing/Art Deco dragon; Woman/Justice seated facing, holding aloft a torch/ Nordic cross quartering the landvættir - protective spirits: Gammur (the sea-eagle or griffin), Dreki (the dragon), Grithungur (the bull) and Bergrisi (the rock giant), who safeguarded Iceland from invasion by Danish king Harald Blatand ("Bluetooth") Gormsen.
