This company built and developed the area around the famous waterfalls that had become so popular with the ladies and gentlemen of New York & Philadelphia. The Switzerland of America was the phrase used to attract thousands of visitors to the area. The Wahnetah Hotel is now gone (destroyed by fire many years ago) and much of the trail is now sadly in disrepair but signs of the original work retaining walls, bridges and paths can still be seen.
