RI. Smithfield-Slaterville. Ch(1035). First National Bank of Smithfield. $1. 1865 Original Series. Fr. 380. Blue serial numbers. No.2653/969290. Plate B. VF-EF, with a small edge split at the top. This note looks as if it was Almost Uncirculated at first glance. Excellent color, nice margins all around, and the signatures are bold and sharp.

There are only eighteen notes reported on this title. Two other Original Series aces are known; one a Fine, and the other Fair. The last time a similar note appeared in a public auction was in 1995. Our current example was purchased from William Donlon in 1964.
