Private Order. Uncertain, but likely Danish or German. Early to mid-19th Century. Breast Badge. Silver, enamels and gilt. 65mm. Radiant cross, the cross arms in red enamel with a raised outline, at the center is a cross outlined in black-enamel within a red enamel circle with a raised braided outline and an inner gilt circle. Elements of this piece are reminiscent of the Danish Order of the Dannebrog. Multi-piece construction. Minute enamel loss at cross tips. Attractive, Choice Extremely Fine.
