Bank of New York. March 21, 1803. Partially printed receipt for $118.81. 18.5mm x 9mm. Ornate counterfoil at left. Issued to Daniel C. Verplanck. Signed by Cornelius Heyer, teller. Very Fine.

The text reads: "Bank of New-York, the 21 March 1803. Received this day from Daniel C. Verplanck One hundred & Eighteen 81/100 Dollars which sum is placed to the Credit of the Treasurer of the State of New-York, in account with the Bank, and I have given duplicate receipts for the same." Signed Cornelius Heyer.
The importance of the Bank of New York is reflected by the fact that the State of New York kept deposits there, as shown by this partially printed receipt.
