Civil War -- "Macon Daily Telegraph And Confederate," Oct.21, 1864. 2 page, folio. The newspaper decries the barbarity and infamy of Sheridan's scorched earth activities, reports on the meeting of Confederate governors, and offers an argument by a "distinguished Tennessean" in support "of the policy of negro soldiers" - although the paper's view is contrary. Classifieds and block ads include a number of slavery-related items - "Slave Claims," "Runaway Negroes," "Land for Sale for Confederate Money or Negroes", etc. Name (subscriber?) lightly penciled at top, some splitting at centerfold, About Very Good.
