Colonial Paper. Massachusetts Government Lottery. 1744. No.694. Signed by Samuel Watts, one of the five lottery directors. Indent, left. Uncirculated, with some age toning. The lottery act was passed in January of 1745, and the tickets were printed and sold over the next several months. The drawing took place right in Faneuil Hall. Watts (1716-1788) went on to serve as a Selectman for Chelsea for various years between 1750 and 1773.
