South Carolina. February 8, 1779. $50. Ordinance note. Serial number 6629, signed by Charles Atkins, John Smyth and Plowden Weston. On the front at lower left is Providence pointing to a globe near a banner that says PROVIDENTIA NOSTRIS PRAESIDEAT (Let foresight guide us). On the backs, Atlas carries a huge boulder on his shoulders. The upper left corner is missing, otherwise EF-AU. Three very broad margins are present. Ex. Henry Chapman.
