South Carolina. 1767 Written Dates. Written date is September 1868. 20 Pounds. Serial number 3121. Seal at lower right with Exchange and Customs House Building, and COMMERCIO (trade) motto. Signers are Charles Pinckney, Sr., Brewton, Dart, Manigault, Parsons, Lynch and Smith. Pieces missing, torn in half, and sewn on to an assuredly non-Colonial piece of blue-lined paper. Not the finest known, but most of the text and design elements are there. A rare, early note. Ex. Henry Chapman.
