South Carolina. February 8, 1779. $50 / Eighty One Pounds, Five Shillings. Fr. SC-154. PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35, Small Edge Tears. No.5551. One of the most graphically pleasing notes in the entire Colonial series. Providence and globe on the front. The back features a dramatic image of Atlas. The note is whole, all of the printing is clear, and the edges are rather sharp. The center fold is barely visible on the front. Signers are Joseph Atkinson, John Scott, and Edward Trescot. A scarce note in this condition. Reverse with engraved signature of Thomas Coram.
