NY. Fayetteville. Russell & Tremain per Bank of Fayetteville. 10 Cents. Oct. 12, 1862.Small-size format change bill. Blue text with simple double-ruled frame. Edwin P. Russell and Porter Tremain were partners in the development of the Bank of Fayetteville, which would become the National Bank of Fayetteville in 1865. The men became financially embarrased in 1868, as bankruptcy proceedings were started in the Northen District of New York. Age toning and stains, else VG. Scarce.
