Piece off lower right corner, else VF.The American League was formed in the Fall of 1899 as the remnants of the Western League, a successful minor league circuit headquartered in the Midwest. Charles Comisky relocated his St. Paul Saints of the Western League to the South Side of Chicago to play as the "White Stockings." Despite early predictions that the "White Stockings" would not last through the 1900 season, the team has become a Chicago institution. The stadium they play in bears Comisky´s name.
