Lake Copper (MI), $5 shs, 1920-27, signed by William Alfred Paine as president, woman seated on marble monument with miners and mills behind, green, punches touch signature, VF+. In 1880, Paine established the banking and investment house of Paine, Webber. He was also involved in financing the development of copper deposits in Northern Michigan, which proved to be very profitable. [5]
