Philadelphia Museum (PA) 1840. One Share. Ornate border. VF. The Philadelphia Museum had its origins in the collection of Charles Wilson Peale. After various attemps Charles´ son Rembrandt incorporated the company in 1821. The museum remained in the Philadelphia arcade until 1836 when a new building was constructed. Hit by hard economic times the museum was forced to sell its collection in the 1850s´. [2]
