Judson Manufacturing Co (CA), $500 6% mortgage bond, Oakland, 1887, signed by Egbert Judson as president, sunrise over Golden Gate, brown, coupons right, folds, VF+. Egbert Judson (1812-93) had gone west in the Gold Rush; in 1867, he made and tested dynamite at his factory, believed to be the first manufacture and use of the compound in the United States after Swede Alfred Nobel invented it a year earlier.
