Ex-Soldiers Investment Industrial Co., Inc. (AL), $100 Capital Stock, 1927, photo vignettes of "Hon. Ohio Bell", eagle above and "Mrs. Alice Street," green with gold seal, Register Keeper on reverse, minor rust stains on reverse, VF. The Company´s principal business was to buy and sell real estate, hardware, farm products, fuel and other provisions. There are relatively few documented examples of African-Americans organizing corporations in the 1920s (Marcus Garvey is a notable exception, well known to the field of scripophily). All African-American related shares are rare, especially from Southern states.
