Columbus Zoological Co (OH), $5 shares, 1905, eagle on rock, black with green underprint and metallic gold title, share value underprint and seal, Goes, folds, lightly toned, good VF+. This zoo, the first one in Columbus, opened just a month before this certificate was issued, in May 1905, but closed down in October. One building - the monkey house - still exists. The current Columbus Zoo, in nearby Powell, Ohio, opened in 1927 and has grown to be considered the best zoological park in the United States.
