†1909 (4 Feb.) envelope with the imprint of "post office department/ u.s. postal agency,/shanghai, china/official business" in corner, the last line crossed through and company handstamp struck over, registered to New York with 1903-08 Washington 2c. scarlet (2) and 1902-08 6c. brownish lake tied by the type III registration oval with "R.D." in centre and showing the later type of four-line registration datestamp (some lower case letters), appropriate transit marks.
