Canada 1851 Laid Paper 6d. brown-purple, a pair with large margins mainly all round (touched at two places towards top), neatly cancelled and tied on 1853 (19 July) entire from Toronto to St. John, New Brunswick, sent overland by the Lake Temiscoata route, to Quebec, Woodstock and arrival c.d.s. on reverse; the entire with tears on reverse and filing crease well clear of the adhesives. A very rare franking, being only the second cover recorded bearing a pair of the 6d., and one of only four franked at the quadruple rate. Sc. 2; S.G. 2. Photo
