GREAT BRITAIN 1840 One Penny Black Plate Ia: QC, mainly good margins (just touched at upper left and with tiny surface scrape), applied for redirection and tied by black cross on 1840 (Oct./Nov.) letter from Karachi (24 Oct.) and later from Hyderabad (Nov.) sent under the same cover to London and forwarded to Rotherhithe, showing a fine strike of the boxed "capt barbers/east india agency/64 cornhill" f.a.c. One of the very few letters from any country with a 1d. black applied for redirection. Photo
