Iceland 5a. grey "Brjefspjald" card (address and message scratched out and with other lesser faults) cancelled by "reykjavik 3/12" single-ring d.s. and showing fine strikes of the framed "north shields/ship letter" in black (Robertson S.3, 180p in green) and single-ring d.s. (23.1.80) on front. A great rarity despite faults and believed to be the earliest recorded use of the stationery card. Photo Estimate £ 1,200-1,500
