James I, second coinage, Unite, 10.00g., second bust, crowned half-length bust to right in elaborately decorated armour, holding orb and sceptre, reads mag brit fran et hib, rev. crowned square-topped shield with i r at sides, faciam eos in gentem vnam, m.m. lis (c.f. Schneider 22; N.2083; S.2618), a beautiful specimen, in mint state, rare in this condition Estimate £2,000-2,250 provenance:
