Charles I, Thirty shillings, third coinage, Falconer's second issue, king on horseback left, f by horse's hoof, smooth ground below, rev. crowned arms, a five and a six pointed star above crown, m.m. two thistles/thistle (Murray no.4; SCBI35 1497-8 (same dies); S.5555), struck off-centre on obverse, usual die flaw at 12 o'clock on this variety, otherwise attractively toned, very fine or better, rare Estimate £ 350-400 The significance of the double mintmark is not clear, it only appears on this one (flawed) obverse die.
