Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Pound, 11.15g., fifth issue, crowned bust left with long hair and richly ornamented dress, rev. crowned square-topped shield with Eer at sides, colon/pellet stops, m.m. key (over woolpack both sides) (Brown & Comber F14 (this coin); Schneider 801 (same dies); N.2008; S.2534), drapery weakly struck at 7 o'clock (as usual with this die), extremely fine, a rare overmark Estimate £ 4,000-5,000 provenance:

Two Pound obverse dies, mintmark woolpack, were overmarked with mintmark key, one with the mintmark at the beginning of the legend (B & C F11) and the other with the mintmark at the end of the legend (B & C F14). Both are rare, the latter is very rare.
