China War 1840-1842 (R. Kent, Major, 1st Reg. Bengal Volunteers), good very fine

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Kent (1791-1848), Ensign 1/6th Bengal Native Infantry 1809; Lieutenant 1814; served with his Regiment in the Nepal War 1814-15 where he was present at the actions of Kalanga, Nahan and Jaithak, and in the Third Mahratta War, where he shared in the Deccan Prize Money for general captures; advanced to Captain 1824 and transferred to 18th Bengal Native Infantry; was present at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore 1825-26; attached to the Volunteer Regiment for services in China 1840-42, and was present at Chusan and at the capture of Chinkiang Foo; rejoined the 18th Bengal Native Infantry 1843, advanced to Lieutenant Colonel 1846 and commanded his Regiment until his death at Lahore.
