Naval General Service 1793-1840, one clasp, 4 Novr 1805 (William Black, Lieut.), good very fine, with the remains of a piece of riband, in a shagreen case

Lieutenant William Black was serving aboard H.M.S. Aeolus at the time of the action off Cape Finisterre, 4.11.1805, during which a British Squadron of eight ships under Captain Sir Richard Strachan destroyed the remains of the French Fleet that had survived the major fleet action off Trafalger; two officers and 14 ratings from Aeolus recieved this clasp.
