Order of St. John, Knight of Grace set of insignia, neck Badge and Star; Afghanistan 1878-80 (Lieut: J.W.M. Newton. R.A.); Queen South Africa 1899-1902, four clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (Major R.F.A.); British War and Victory Medals (Brig. Gen.); Jubilee 1897; Coronation 1902; Coronation 1911; Order of the League of Mercy, good, very fine together with Royal Artillery cloth insignia, H.M. Body Guard of the Honoury Corps of Gentleman at Arms shoulder insignia and Brigadier General's cap badge, metal shoulder insignia, and tunic collar insignia all mounted in display case (9)

Brigadier General J.W.M. Newton, Royal Artillery served in the Afghan War 1878-80, and took part in the action of Ali Kheyl, and the assault of Zawa (M.I.D.); served in South African 1899-1901 as C.R.A., Krugersdorp, and afterwards on Staff as D-A-A-G, operations in the Transvaal, March to November 1901.
