An extremely rare cap, probably originally for a senior NCO of the 9th Lancers, now fitted with good gilt rayed plate mounted with white metal KC and regimental device of a double-headed Eagle in gilt metal on domed white metal ground within an oval strap inscribed LANARKSHIRE YEOMANRY, flanked by Thistle sprays mounted with a gilt scroll for SOUTH AFRICA 1900-02, hussar-pattern corded gilt chin-chain, Lanarkshire Yeomanry button to gilt boss (no plume)
