A Pair of Royal Flying Corps Metal Wings.
Size and shape similar to the Officer's Full Dress Wings in Lot 324 above, but in bronzed metal, with two single-prong fixings (now clipped to approximately 3/8 in. in length)

Bronze metal wings were worn by RFC pilots in tropical uniform, the normal method of attachment being blade fixings similar to those on officers' Service Dress cap-badges. The prong fixings on this item suggest that it may have originally been manufactured for tropical wear but later converted for use as a notice-board embellishment.
